Amazon chipping in $10M in tips for customers who thank their delivery drivers during the holidays
The season of giving should also be a season of thanking — especially for the delivery drivers making sure packages get to their destinations on time.
Amazon is once again encouraging customers to thank its drivers with a U.S. holiday promotion that includes a $5 tip from the company.
If you have an Alexa-enabled device, just say, “Alexa, thank my driver,” and the driver who completed your most recent delivery will be notified of the appreciation. Customers can also send thanks through the Amazon web site or app by searching “thank my driver.”
Only the first 2 million thank-yous will include Amazon’s gratuity, so you better hurry — Amazon reportedly processed 5.9 billion U.S. delivery orders in 2023, equivalent to 16.16 million delivery orders per day or over 673,500 per hour. But you can keep thanking delivery personnel (without the tip) through the holidays and year round.
First rolled out during the 2022 holidays, Amazon customers have thanked their delivery drivers more than 40 million times, according to the company.
