Cloudflare VP joins Statsig as chief revenue officer at fast-growing Seattle startup
William da Cunha, a longtime tech exec who was most recently a vice president at Cloudflare, joined Seattle startup Statsig as its new chief revenue officer.
da Cunha spent the past eight years at Cloudflare, the publicly traded cloud services giant, where he ran the Americas sales organization. He previously held leadership roles at Seagate, EVault, and iAsiaWorks.
He’ll join a fast-growing startup at Statsig, which launched three years ago and has more than $25 million in annual recurring revenue. Total revenue is expected to double this year, according to the company.
Founded and led by former Facebook exec Vijaye Raji, Statsig helps product teams test and evaluate new features, using live data from real customers, prior to launching them widely. It views its approach as a major improvement over traditional A/B testing, giving product teams fine-tuned controls and the ability to conduct hundreds of experiments in parallel, with detailed analysis of outcomes based on the metrics of their choice.
Customers include OpenAI, Notion, Microsoft, Figma, Anthropic, Bloomberg, and others.
Statsig raised $43 million in 2022 from Silicon Valley’s Sequoia Capital, with participation from Seattle’s Madrona Venture Group. Its headcount has grown by 40% this year and recently surpassed 100 people.
Statsig jumped 40 spots in the most recent update to the GeekWire 200, our list of top privately held startups in the Pacific Northwest.
da Cunha will be based in San Francisco. Earlier this year Statsig ran an advertising campaign across San Francisco with a variety of messages on more than 200 roadside billboards and posters at transit shelters and stations.
“The opportunity to shape the future of experimentation and empower companies with faster, data-driven decisions is incredibly exciting,” da Cunha said in a statement. “Statsig’s story is just beginning, and I can’t wait to help accelerate its growth during this pivotal phase.”
