Seattle startup TestSprite, which automates testing of APIs and web apps, raises $1.5M

Seattle-based startup TestSprite raised $1.5 million in a pre-seed round to help automate software testing processes for front- and back-end systems.

Founded earlier this year, TestSprite aims to replicate the work of a software test engineer by using AI agents that analyze inputs such as API documentation data.

Customers include individual users and large enterprise companies.

The company is led by CEO Yunhao Jiao, a former engineer at Amazon and a natural language processing researcher.

TestSprite, which graduated from Techstars Miami earlier this year, has 12 employees and plans to double headcount.

Investors include Techstars, Jinqiu Capital, MiraclePlus, Hattrick Capital, EdgeCase Capital Partners, and angel investor Rafael Barroso.

“Automated testing is becoming more crucial as AI assisted software development rapidly becomes the de-facto way of building software in a market that is pushing for faster, more efficient software delivery from software engineers,” said Andres Barreto, managing director at Techstars. “We believe the Testsprite team and product is poised to become the leader in this new market shift.”
